As she flew toward home from Rufus and Amathyst's place, where her dragon friends were having a working bee, the teenage fairy, Sorilla Rosewater, looked down at the ground and was shocked to find that the road below had vanished, as had all other familiar landmarks. Quickly lifting her head up the fairy's worried eyes peered into the western sun as it began to sink behind the Wild Tree Mountain Range. At least the mountains looked the same as they always did.
In this second tale of Tildale Sorilla has to cope with a new and very peculiar sort of creature. She also responds to a potentially catastrophic situation. The town of Tildale is in peril and the young fairy puts her own life in danger in an attempt to save another.
A very different sort of creature suddenly arrived in the town and in vastly different ways these two strangers affect the lives of everyone in Tildale.
