The ancient Bards encoded their knowledge of the natural world of animals and plants and the power to heal, order and judge into teasing riddles that were told or sung, not written down. They believed they had powers of divination, shape changing and the ability to travel to the 'other world'. Inspiration and vision are the foundation of Celtic myth. Claire Hamilton captures the enchanting and often strange beauty of the tales they told.
I thought this book was just great. I am a Celtic Irish fan of music, language, art, religion, culture...you name it. I am always on the look out for Irish Celtic history books that seem authentic to the culture and this book was definitly that!! I am looking really hard for the book that goes with it, The Well of Celtic Wisdom, but it seems to be out of print. I can only guess that book would be just as good. As soon as it becomes available, I would buy them both!! :)
Classic Celtic Literature

Excellent book of classic celtic literature. I have enjoyed this book very much. Be careful removing the CD though, mine was scratched trying to get it out of the plastic, so I'm missing a lot of the "mood music" that would really compliment the stories, but for sheer reading pleasure this is a great book.
