Northeast makes up one of the richest single linguistic regions with around 220 languages in multiple language families like Indo-European, Sino-Tibetan, Tai-Kadai and Austroasiatic that share common structural features. The selected folktales in this collection represent the colorful traditions and traits, faiths and fascinations, myths and miracles, habitats and harmony, lifestyle, and livelihood of the tribal people living in the northeastern corner of India. Atrayee Kashyap, a budding writer is crossing her 18 and doing MBBS. She has been interested in adventurous and thrilling writing. In contrast to this, she has always loved to pen down heartfelt and passionate poems. For this debut, she chooses the magical stories of some prominent hill tribes.
