Tales From the Heartland

Tales From The Heartland is a collection of recollections of Janice Leasure Woodrum from her youth on a farm in eastern Kansas. She writes, "As I have looked back on memories of precious friends and revisited various indelible experiences, such as riding our horse to school in Prairie Home, the "one-room schoolhouse," watching Daddy milk the cow every evening before our supper meal, or going fishing in the pond next to the barn I have recognized more and more how incredibly blessed I was to experience these small but unique and precious elements of growing up on the farm. I can't help but replay some of the most memorable experiences from my youth in rural Kansas. It is known as the "Heartland," in the very center of America. It surely did capture my heart then, and it still does all these years later! May the tales entertain you as you thumb through precious memories of days and opportunities that were precious to me as I grew up in the Heartland of America.
