Today we speak of immigration often as a matter of dry and bloodless domestic policy. It is spoken of in terms of social justice, economics, ideology and sadly prejudice. Those of us who had the honor of growing up knowing immigrant members of our family have a different take on the subject. We see their path as a sanguine cord which runs back to our source, our ethnic and communal heritage. We look upon it as a strong thread woven forward into the tapestry of this great nation.

Tales from the Great Divide is a story of challenge, of change but mostly of hope. It is the story of an immigrant Italian family and their first American born progeny living in the chaotic years of the middle part of the Twentieth Century. With humor, courage and grit they struggle to be American as the definition of American changes. In the end they come to define American as does every generation of immigrants.
