THERE IS SOMETHING OFF THE WALL IN THE AIR AND IT IS IN THIS BOOK. IT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS CREEPY AND ODD. STRANGE ENOUGH TO ENCOURAGE ONE TO QUESTION THE WORLD AROUND. MANY SHORT EERIE STORIES AND SOME QUITE COMICAL. ONCE READING THE FIRST PAGE OF ONE OF THEM STOPPING IS NOT AN OPTION. THE MIND CRAVES MORE AND MORE AND EVEN MORE. GETTING TO THE FINAL PAGE IS A DILEMMA. MORE MADNESS IS NEEDED WHEN ITS OVER. BLARING SIREN * AN ABSOLUTE EYE OPENER AND SOMETHING TO LEARN FROM AND PASS ON TO THE NIEVE.

Some fun, some very moving. All in all, 15 fantastic stories! After TRIFECTA I had been salivating waiting to see what NOVITSKY would conger up next. TALES BY CANDLELIGHT was just what the doctor ordered. Piece by piece, character by character, situation by situation, this thing knocked me out. Read like screenplays in the making.

UNIQUE is the one word to describe each of these out on a limb crazy adventures. ONE stands out among the rest because it hits home to all and makes the tears flow. IT must have been a long painful trip to dredge up such aching feelings to write them down. BLESS one who can handle that job. ON a happier note. SUCH laugh out loud comical situations found in others here were enough to get the reader past the tearjerker. ON an abstract note. FINE questionable examples of tests of the imagination were demonstrated in a few others. ALL in all. THIS is some collection of off the wall situations and events that make one think and/or BELIEVE.
KEEPIN' THEM COMIN'

It is one after another with this brilliant story maker. I just finished Trifecta of Suspense, (which was three of the greatest, most mysterious stories in one that I ever read), when I came across Tales by Candlelight available for purchase on all of the book sites. Both books are phenomenal. This one is superb with the short story concept. Each story is unreal and amazing in its own way. They are all page turners that make you really think afterwards and make you want to re-read each one. Every time I read one over I find bits of info that were missed the first time around. The first one made me cry my eyes out. It also had the same affect on my sister. It was very touching to say the least. Without giving away the plot or the finish, let it just be said that I have new respect and deeper feelings towards those people when it seemed like that couldn't be possible a while ago. My favorite had to be "Remember me?" That hit home in a number of different ways. It reminded me of several kids from my own high school, some who I loved and some who the world would have been better without. Revenge is quite sweet. My sister's favorites were "wedding march" and "grandpa can still snap" she found them rather amusing as did I but the suspenseful thriller types with an odd eeriness to them are more for me. "I'm not leaving" and "eternal cocktail party" were two of them. There are 15 astonishing stories total in this captivating collection, of which play with the mind. The problem these days is there are thousands of movies that should never have been made, while there are thousands of stories out there that should be movies that are not. This book has 15 stories that have great movie possibility and trifecta of suspense has another 3. Just the thought of things like honey I shrunk my kids, kangaroo jack, jeepers creepers, and the pathetic remakes of other silly films astonishes me when there is so much potential in books like these. The author is gifted, gifted beyond belief. Five stars are not enough.
Tales by Candlelight

The major themes and subjects of the short stories vary. This author usually hits on paranormal, the unknown, ghosts, spirits, and science fiction like he did in the cemetery fence, the misty dins and sheep. Three other great ones. Tales by Candlelight touches on some of those subjects and many others. The majority around this house of mine enjoyed Blaring Siren. It is set in a busy section of Brooklyn New York and based around the main character Timothy, who would do anything to get a place on the FDNY. As he goes through his training and hardships, many others join the journey. You'll meet Timmy's parents, little sister Carol, family friend Mrs. Murray, friends from the academy Kevin, Harry, and Glenn, Del the bartender, and the girl who lights up Timmy's days at the gym, Cindie. Another favorite with somewhat of a lesson to it is Remember Me. It starts off at a high school reunion where Jessica and Patty discuss old days in their own way. Jessica was not known as the sweetest girl in high school by many. However, there is one guy who thought he couldn't live without her. Bobby comes by to pay Jessica a visit after the reunion to see if he will still receive the same treatment from her after all those years. After meetings with Bobby, Jessica seems to realize the error of her ways. She wonders if there could be anyway to make it up to him. With some assistance from Patty and old friend Denzbar, some very interesting information is revealed to Jessica. Some lessons from these two stories and the others are how mistreating people can be hurtful, there may be more out there than they let us know, revenge can be sweet, and there may be certain plans for us that we shouldn't tamper with. It shouldn't take long for this to hit the bestseller list. The only thing holding it back would have to be the fact that it was published by a print on demand publisher which increases the price and makes for less availability in stores that hold physical books. It does appear that more and more people are coming to the understanding that buying print on demand is the only way to find these fine writers that don't get picked up by the commercial, same old same old publishing monsters.
