Taken for His Pleasure by Carol Marinelli Harlequin Presents # 2566 - September 2006 Presents Uncut theme The attraction was so strong, Lydia found herself almost giving in to the total stranger. But he wasn't a stranger, he was Anton Santini hotelier; and she was his new bodyguard. Anton is not thrilled with having Lydia forced on him, but when presented with the evidence of a threat on his life, he relents agreeing to allow Lydia pose as his latest lover. Behind the closed doors of the hotel room, the sexual tension flares but both find themselves lowering their masks and letting the other see parts of themselves. Anton finds himself caring for Lydia but he can't reconcile himself to her choice of profession. And Lydia can't give up the job that helps her be who she is. This is my first by Ms. Marinelli and my first from the Uncut theme. You'll need one of those spray bottle fans for reading this one. From the first chapter the heat between Anton and Lydia is scorching. I really liked the way she allowed Anton some moments of letting his guard down. We needed this at the beginning to overlook the cold arrogant exterior he shows the world. Lydia is smart, sexy and not at all sure of her own sexuality. Her uncertainties and then emerging confidence really balance out the cool professional her job demands. The suspenseful story behind the romance is very well done and keeps everything all tense and riviting. Well done!
