Jared, Viscount Ravenswood, has no choice but to honor the deathbed wish of his servant: that he introduce her soon-to-be orphaned daughter to the notorious Duchess of Clairborne. But this is no ordinary child. She's the key to the Duchess's shocking secrets, and to Jared's own unexpected past.
Jared, Viscount of Ravenswood is scared both physically and mentally. He has just lost one of his only friends and this friend has asked him to make an impossible promise. To hand over Hannah a little girl that he thinks of his own to "the Angel" a woman he doesn't think very highly of based on his past conclusions. But when he meets Calantha at his sister's house party he realizes he may have been wrong in his judgment of the beautiful lady. But these two have a past that will bind them together. Will they both have the strength to reach for the love that could heal them? I love stories about two damaged souls finding their well deserved happy endings. A long time fan of this series I was pleased to see that this was a worthy addition to the previous two titles. Jared and Calantha are very dynamic characters and endearing as well. Both are bedeviled by their past and this adds depth and conflict to their very romantic romance. Secondary characters are wonderful additions to this book. This is a romance with heart, chivalry, compassion and warmth. It will steal its way into your hearts and onto your keeper shelves. This is an author I have little trouble recommending to readers of Historical romance. For CK2S Kwips and Kritiques
Take Me

Mary is dying. On her deathbed she begs her friend Lord Jared Ravenswood to take her young daughter, Hannah, to the Angel, Calantha, Duchess of Clairborne. Deveril, the Duke of Clairborne, Calantha's now deceased husband, is Hannah's father. Jared despises the duke because he raped Mary, but he reluctantly agrees to speak with Calantha. When Jared and Calantha meet an intense attraction leads them to a secluded place where they share passionate kisses. Calantha has been left vulnerable and wary of men due to her abusive husband. Jared is scarred and imposing, and yet they are drawn to each other. Deveril's brother Henry and his wife Ellen want to control Calantha as her husband did, but they are not succeeding since Calantha has grown some confidence. With Jared intending on marrying Calantha, their ability to harm her is decreasing even more. After living in shame and fear from the abuse of her deceased husband, Calantha doubts herself and her worth as Jared's wife. At the same time, Jared finds himself craving more than passion from Calantha. When Calantha's life is threatened, there is no doubt how Jared feels about his beautiful wife, then Calantha discovers just how much she is worth to him. Take Me is a very romantic love story, and Calantha and Jared are incredibly endearing. Jared is a compelling man because of his imposing and honorable nature; he fiercely protects those he loves. Calantha certainly does possess angelic qualities; her compassion and beauty enchanted me. Take Me is a moving, sensual story that captivated me with wonderful characters and an exciting and heart warming storyline. Nannette Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed
Sensual, Sexual Healing
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
This novel is quite poignant, but also very sensual. It highlights the powerful healing qualities of love. Calantha was abused and humiliated in her first marriage and should be weary of men. Enter Jared, Viscount Ravenswood, who brings into her life a little girl Hannah, the daughter of their mutual friend Mary who was raped by Calantha's husband. Affection and romance blooms not only through the rapport Cali and Jared share, but also because of their mutual love for Hannah. Both Cali and Jared have been scarred by life and I really like it that they see the inner beauty of each other's character. Reading this novel made me want to read the first two novels, Touch Me, and Tempt Me. They are equally wonderful. I am now going to read more of Lucy Monroe's books; she is now one of my faves.
superb ending to a fine historical trilogy

In 1825, his dying housekeeper and friend Mary asks her employer Viscount Ravenswood to introduce her daughter Hannah to the infamous hermit the Duchess of Clairborne. Instead he offers to raise the child as his own though he knows she is a by-product of a rape, but Mary gets him to agree to her deathbed request to take the lass to the "Angel" as she calls Calantha. He considers Calantha as evil because her late husband, the monstrous duke, raped Mary and sired Hannah and she did nothing to protect their servant. Calantha does not want any part of the man known by the Ton as Lord Beast because she fears her attraction to Jared. However, he refuses to back down as honor demands he complete his quest though he too finds he cannot ignore the Angel who somehow is in his every conscious thought. As they fall in love over a child and roses, someone is trying to hurt Hannah with all the evidence pointing at Calantha. The third "T Me" Regency romance (see TOUCH ME and TEMPT ME) is a terrific tale starring a hero whose father "stole" him at birth from his mother and sister, and a woman he initially considers a she-demon. As they fall in love, Calantha, a survivor of a nasty relationship just like Jared is, risks all to keep Hannah safe while her beloved wonders if she could be the culprit as he still struggles with her being an Angel. If they trust in love they might save Hannah's life, but Calantha believes he loved Mary and Jared fears his heart is blinding his head from the reality of an avenging angel. TAKE ME is a superb ending to a fine historical trilogy. Harriet Klausner

Jared, Vicount Ravenswood, is known to society as Lord Beast due to his scarred face. When Lord Beast is refused a dance at his sister's ball, Calantha, Duchess of Clairborne steps forward and asks Jared to dance. Known to all as The Angel, Calantha sees beyond Jared's scars to the honorable man beneath his scarred exterior. With one dance, thus begins the romance between Lord Beast and The Angel. But their romance won't be an easy one. Both Jared and Calantha have secrets. And intertwined with those secrets is grave danger. Before true happiness can be found, secrets must be revealed and the threat to their family must be eliminated. I loved Touch Me and Tempt Me. I have been chomping at the bit for Take Me. And I was not disappointed! I adored Take Me from beginning to end! I loved the characters, the twists and turns of the plot, and most of all, I loved the romance between Calantha and Jared. I have adored Jared from the moment he was first introduced in Touch Me and after reading Take Me, I want him even more. Jared is strong and powerful and has a magnificent presence. I love that Calantha sees beyond his exterior, from the beginning, to the gorgeous man that he is. And he is gorgeous! The thing I love most about Jared, though, is the awe and depth of emotion he feels with Calantha. Lucy Monroe is one of my favorite authors because I love her heroes. Ms. Monroe writes these deliciously Alpha heroes and is able to capture their emotional vulnerability without lessening their manhood. It's what makes me want her heroes for my own. It's what makes me want Jared oh so much! Take Me is the final book in this wonderful trilogy. I am sad to see it end. Luckily, I can read these delicious books over and over again. And trust me, I will!
