Clues lead them beyond the camps to remote farms and a labyrinth of underground tunnels where the killer's true motives and depravity become horrifyingly clear.
The truth is darker than either of them imagined and the killer is always one step ahead. With the lives of two young men and the undercover policewoman on the line, he takes his intended victims to the one place no one would think to look: where it all began.
