If you like stories about the Native American tribes of the Southwest you will enjoy this book, but

This is a mystery only in the sense that you don't know who's going to die next, but not much else is a surprise. I gave it 4 stars rather than 3 because Shannon Baker does an excellent job telling us about the Hopi people, their belief's, and culture, which I enjoyed very much. The rest of the book is standard bad mom, crazy friend, lying husband, and loyal dog. We know who done it in chapter 5 because she tells us, and everything else is not much of a surprise either. My main complaint is that our heroine, Nora Abbott is an idiot. All kinds of people are out to kill her, and she runs around like a ninny. She never has an intelligent thought or action; stereotyping? The completely brainless and helpless female. When others tell her to stay put. to stay safe, she runs off to try and get herself, or someone else, killed; again. It is hard to believe anyone who can successfully run a resort is this stupid. In her situation any sane person would have gotten a gun and a 280 lb body guard. That being said Ms. Baker can write well and I was entertained if irritated.
