My dad left when I was six years old, he never came back. My mom had a way of making it feel like it was all my fault. I tried finding him once, but to no avail. I barely remember what he looks like. Then, I met a young BMX rider who was added to my boyfriend's BMX team. We connected instantly, and I feel protective of him like we're family.
