This is the fourth book in the series, that considers the biomechanics underpinning the martial art of Systema. The first three books looked at the application of Aiki in the martial arts of Aikido and Aikijujutsu. There is strong video evidence to support the claim, made in this book, that Aiki is also used in a substantial number of Systema techniques to unbalance the opponent. Extracts of these Systema techniques are analysed in a similar way to that in the first three books, providing knowledge and structure to the techniques. These techniques are drawn from demonstrations performed by well known instructors of Systema with full Youtube references. The initial chapters explain the concept of Aiki and its three forms, with supplementary material on experiencing Aiki. In particular, once the body is unbalanced by Aiki it is in an unstable balanced position. The subsequent chapters deal with preventing the opponent from recovering his balance by stepping. This results in three principles that govern Aiki based Systema techniques.
