The Council of Alexandria called for reconciliation among bishops and former Arians who sincerely renounce Arianism, affirm the Nicene Creed, and confess the full divinity of the Holy Spirit. It emphasizes that disputes over the terminology of "one hypostasis" versus "three hypostases" are acceptable so long as both sides uphold the same orthodox faith, condemning Arianism, Sabellianism, Paul of Samosata, and other heresies. The council also reaffirms the full humanity of Christ, insisting that the incarnate Word possessed a rational human soul and mind, thereby rejecting Apollinarian tendencies. An appended account explains that after Julian the Apostate recalled exiled bishops, Athanasius convened the synod to reaffirm Nicene orthodoxy, reconcile repentant bishops, and condemn Apollinarianism before Julian's death in Persia
