I first found this book in the local library. Like most of the books I tended to read, it didn't look particularly popular. It was short, though, and I wanted to learn about particle physics. At the time, I lacked the background to even approach a book on quantum field theory. This short, unassuming little book not only introduced me to the idea of symmetry in physics, and the CPT theorem in non-mathematical terms, but also gives good stories about the complications of practicing an academic discipline during the Cultural Revolution. It made T.D. Lee into one of my favorite Nobel Prize winners. This book would make a wonderful gift to a future scientist.
