Because of its history and the Hispanic, Anglo-Americn and Indian people who have lived there throughout history, there are a remarkable number of icons, emblems and insignia associated with Santa Fe and areas of the Southwest. Grimes looks at all subject areas associated with symbols -from religion to tourism - and the result is a compelling and fascinating account. Wonderful examination of symbols, myths and rituals. Includes a neat series of appendixes with lists of Santa Fe events and festivals as well.
