I mean, this is a superb novel don't get me wrong, crafted with my usual care, about Sydney in 1833, designed for nine-fourteen year olds. It is a very special book. But, if you do not like well-written, historic time-travel novels, I suggest moving on...your time is valuable.
Not just because it tells the continuing story of the Time Detectives Club, or creates a beautiful story arc from the year 2025, where Sydney City has changed in many ways, through to the year 1833 and a fresh, new town called Sydney, struggling to get its feet on the ground. But because it's awesome. And I should know, I wrote it.
Look...let's ask a good question here: Have you ever been through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel? Of course not...it's doesn't exist. It never did. But it could and it will, if our antagonist gets his way. The not-very-nice John Arkham and his son, Bruce. They have a plan that will alter the future forever.
Forever. Can the Time Detectives Club stop him? Will they leave that bakery and those amazing collection of cream buns to make a difference?
Maybe. I guess you'll have to buy this book and give it a read. I mean. If you like Percy Jackson books, or The Magic Treehouse, or just being surprised, you should definitely give this a go. Today.
