I think I can speak for almost everyone when I say that we all loved Journey and Abzu. Two games that set a new benchmark when it came to silent, atmospheric storytelling and visual excellence. So, when rumors emerged of a game that would combine this approach with precision platforming and THPS-style trick combos, it was only natural that the gaming world would get hyped for this plucky newcomer.

But, as time tends to do, it rolled on and here we are, able to get hands-on with this epic adventure. However, while it's pretty easy to complete this game by playing casually and drinking in the vistas and majesty of each area, it has to be said, getting 100% isn't the easiest task.

I've been an avid speedrun fan for several years now, so I was pretty excited to see that Giant Squid, creators of Sword Of The Sea, decided to include a trophy for completing the game in under two hours.

I'm not an actual speedrunner myself, but I do aspire to be one someday. As such, it seemed like this two hour timer for Sword Of The Sea could be a nice way to get my speedrunning sea-legs.

Playing through the game naturally and casually takes around five-or-so hours total, so shaving this down to no more than 120 minutes on a subseuqent playthrough could've been a nice challenge.
Turns out, however, the Speed Surfer trophy is way easier to earn than you would have ever expected. Let me explain.
