"I was a walking baby factory." Zana
"I often felt I'd somehow come from another planet. Daniel, forty-year-old male,
"I'll probably die in this life of crime. " A 17 year old incarcerated female
"I felt the humiliation from my nerves to my bones." Akef, a Palestinian male
"I took my rocking chair and left." Cora

SOS also includes concrete tools for making decisions and handling difficult situations.

Great inspirations from short real life stories.

Dr. Reva Camiel has composed a jewel of a book here for self reflection and growth. It is not one of those new age boring pop psychology books that gather dust either. It is very entertaining and the stories can be read in a few minutes each in any sequence. I feel there is a particular story for most of us that may help you get things in perspective by reading how other real people overcame great adversities in their lives then transformed those challenges into wisdom, strenght and happiness.Another very nice part of this book is that Reva being in her 70's has much experience in life as a woman who has lived through those sexist times and came out very liberated but not angry or bitter. The characters in her book (of all ages) many of which are still living have played big parts in her own emotional and spiritual growth. This is not a senior last day's reflection depressing book but a very uplifting tool for happiness, hope and inspiration for people of all ages. After each story she includes a page or two of self insightful questions so if that story effected you in a certain way you can do a little writing for your own self growth. This book will stay in my small but effective book collection. A good book I can grab to read at a day on the beach or while traveling as the paperback version is a good convenient size too.Niko ~
