This story is loosely based on the life of our author, Dulcinea Lee Hellings, whose father lived on the island of Puerto Rico for 20 years with her step mother. He was a skilled architect and built all over the island, eventually finishing with his masterpiece, The Castle of Rincon.

Remember, this is just a fairy tale, however some elements like: cows, goats, castles, villains, lightning, and lies were inspired by real life events.
