Book Overview

George Jackson was a "Swamp Man," born and bred in the dark watery woods of Mississippi. He was a gentle young man who turned as deadly as a water moccasin after he saw what the four hill boys did to his sister. They caught her soon after she got off the bus, home for her first year of college. When they were through with her, she let her mind shut down, fearing to remember. Slipping through the swamps like a ghost, George stalked them, one by one, two by two... "He lived by the code of the streets and his books vividly recreated the street jungle and its predators." - New Jersey Voice

A LITTLE DISTURBING

I read this book in two days. It was a good book but the whole book was so sad I just cant believe that the main character George would allow these men the Jones boys to continuously rape his sister once a week for 2 years its bad enough that they gave her the spanish fly (farmers use this to mate cattle) drink that made her go crazy but on top of that they were bold enough to come around once a week and rape her over and over again for 2 years unbelievable i was cringing though this whole book

Swamp Man gets his revenge!

Swamp man is the fourth Donald Goines book I've read and like the other books, the story is too good to put down. The way the characters in this book use different racist slang towards the black people in this town (I lost count at four) was a realistic view of people in the south at the time. It was sad to read what happened to his sister and how she was brutally raped over and over again by men who had no heart at all. I wish that the ending could have ended on a happier note, but this Donald Goines we're talking about. There is no happy note at the end of his books... Just reality.

Exellent!

As with all of Donald Goines books, this one is great too... everyone should check it out!
