In all political conflicts, women's voices are all too often lost in the mist of time. The story of Marcel-li Massana has been narrated from the point of view of his foster mother, his foster sister and himself. The voices of the women are the voice of the land: hunger, stoicism and passive resistance. The Spanish Civil War left many unresolved issues. Massana gathered a group of ex-combatants and formed a resistance group known as the Maquis. They trekked from France to Catalonia loaded with explosives and blew up the electrical pylons that supplied electricity to the region. This story will forever continue to hover over the city of Berga for many years to come and it is hoped that the voices in this work will not be buried with the dead.
