Surya Ghar Yojana
PMSGMBY: -
Roof top solar system is an on grid connected scheme for domestic consumers by the Government of India. This scheme is for domestic connection consumers.
Subsidy: - Rs. 30 thousand is available on a connection of one kilowatt, Rs. 60 thousand on a connection of two kilowatts and Rs. 78 thousand on a connection of 3 kilowatt or more load. If a person does not have sufficient money for this scheme,
Electricity generation (free electricity): - After the cost of installing the roof top solar system, free electricity is generated during the day from the sunlight. Hence the name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijali Yojana (PMSGMBY). This electricity generation reduces carbon emissions and makes the electricity self-reliant. When the electricity consumption is low, the remaining electricity is taken by the electricity department and when the electricity is required more, the electricity department gives electricity. This is calculated through the net meter.
