HOT

I first read this book years ago and continue to read it annually, as it is soooo good. I can safely say, Ms. Rogers' earlier novels are ALL keepers!!!

Surrender To Love

I have always been an avid reader of Rosemary Rogers, waiting many months to read each and every one of her books. I was surprised to find I had not read this one and was excited to get home and dive into this one. After reading three or four chapters, I found I was re-reading certain parts because I couldn't understand what was being said. Usually, I do not have this problem but this book threw me. Some chapters were easy to read and understand and others were difficult. I have never encountered this with Rosemary's other books. It was also alittle darker then the other novels of hers I have read. Do I recommend this book..Yes, If you are an avid Rogers reader...If not, try one of her other books, like Sweet Savage Love, first, then read this last. You'll be glad I suggested it.

My first Rosemary Rogers' novel

This was the first Rogers' book that I read and that was more than 10 years ago. I have since re-read it twice and each time I still feel drawn to the characters. The first meeting between Alexandra Howard and Nicholas Dameron, when they both decide to go for a late night swim in the Governor's pool, is one of my favorite parts in this book and it promises of much more exciting encounters between these two. The storyline is well told and the character development is good. You get to see Alexa swept from her safe haven in Ceylon to the dangerous and worldly playgrounds of the rich in Europe, as a result of the discovery of her true parentage. You see her develop from a rather naive debutante, whose passion was roused by Nicholas, to a fully grown woman, intent on taking revenge against her real father and grandmother. As for Nicholas, we see an arrogant, cold man who at times acts so despicably towards women, yet learning about his past gives you a better understanding of him. And despite the hard exterior, there are some tender moments between him and Alexa, which I found enjoyable. We also see him redeem himself by protecting Alexa from the torture that her father puts him through. This book deals with a lot of deceit and scandals, and there's a bit of bodice-ripping as well. When I first read this, I was rather shocked, but open-minded enough even at a young age to know that this is just fiction, and something not to be taken too seriously. And having just finished reading Sweet Savage Love, I think that this is a lot tamer. The things I didn't like about this are the lengthy narratives and the italicized words, which seem to be on every page. Quite annoying really. The ending also seems a bit rushed considering the size of the book. But overall, I enjoyed reading this and give it 4 and a half stars.

EXCELLENT BOOK!!!

Rosemary Rogers is the Queen. This book is such an adventure it's impossible to sum it up. However, if you only like "sweet" books, this is not for you. [RR is know for being a bodice-riper]

A Very Good Read

I trully enjoyed this book. It was very well written as well as an exciting storyline.
