I am a Gulf Coast resident and just went through the scare of a possible landfall of Rita, so I understand what is going on in this book. Though I am enjoying reading it, I don't feel it is particularly well written. The author needs a few more classes on how to write a book. If hurricanes are a possibility in your area, it is interesting, otherwise I am not sure I would promote it as a great read.

It's a killer!

Looking for a great summer read? Well, it's hurricane season (just ask the folks in Florida!)and we're overdue here in Houston. Great characters, tight plot, and unusually well-written dialogue make for a tense read that will keep you nervously watching the weather channel for tropical storm updates. Humor? There's plenty of that, too, in this well-researched book that details exactly what can happen to any coastal area when the "big one" hits. And when it heads for Houston, I'm not sticking around to become one of the characters.

A WAKEUP CALL

Not only was the plot good and exciting, having read it just before Hurricane Charley hit Florida, it was a reminder of just how bad storms can be and to take heed if one is on the way.

Fast paced, great read

This is a very good book, fast paced and characters are well developed and interesting. Believable. I couldn't put it down until I finished. I recommend it highly. Perfect for those who enjoy stories like The Perfect Storm and Isaac's Storm with additional plot added.
