Excellent supplement for Swan's First Year Polish

This paperback companion to Oscar Swan's First Year Polish course covers many topics in detail. For all of the lessons in "First Year Polish" this book contains supplements designed to work together with the lesson to enrich your learning experience. Some of what this book contains: Alphabet and Phonetics discussion Detailed illustrations of how to pronounce Polish sounds, complete with anatomical diagrams. Very detailed! Pronunciation drills - many Short conversations, lectures on culture, history, politics, excerpts from literary sources, all in Polish, with model discussions. When you complete this course you will be able to hold an intelligent conversation on these subjects in Polish - way more in depth then the basic "hello, how are you, where is the hotel" kind of stuff. Poles are very intellectual and this is the kind of information you will need if you want to be able to converse intelligently in their language. As the book progresses even the instructions are given in Polish. There is also a glossary in the back. Simple, black and white illustrations, but they are effective. This is not a fancy book, but it packs a lot of information in a little space. Highly recommended.
