IntroductionWhy become a scientist?Scientists do a lot of great things to make our lives better every day. They can do big things like cure diseases, make our world a safer place, or discover new technologies. Often, it takes teams of scientists working and talking to each other to make these big ideas come to life. Scientists are also doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, researchers, students, moms, dads, kids, grandparents, caretakers, and anyone who wants to know more about the wonders they see each day. You can be a scientist too How do I get started?Science can be a lot of fun. Just look around you and make observations. Observations are often associated with what you see, feel, or hear. For example, seeing that leaves change color from summer to fall is an observation. Asking why is an important step for a scientist. Next, a scientist will come up with ideas known as a hypothesis that might explain or predict their observation. A scientist will then test these ideas with experiments. The results of those experiments should be recorded. Then conclusions can be made from that information. We have made a lab notebook template for adults to copy for you and allow you to practice being a scientist. Most importantly, have fun and stay curious. You can never ask too many questions
