Super Readers and the Forest of Forgotten Words

By B Alan Burgeois

What happens when a forest begins to lose its words?

In The Super Readers and the Forest of Forgotten Words, four young heroes discover that reading is more than a skill-it can be a superpower.

Osie can absorb useful knowledge from the books he reads. Amal's Heart-Sight helps others understand what someone else is feeling. Bruce uses his silver quill and imagination to turn clues into stories and stories into plans. Ampy can read quickly, understand languages, and even communicate with animals.

Together, they are The Super Readers.

When the team enters Whispering Woods, they quickly realize something is terribly wrong. Letters are disappearing. Signs are losing their words. Animals are confused, and the once-lively forest is growing strangely quiet.

Their search leads them to Mina and a mysterious machine that has collected far more words than anyone intended.

Fixing the problem will take more than superhero powers. The Super Readers must listen carefully, understand what happened, learn how the forest works, solve the mystery of the machine, and discover how stories can help put things right again.

Filled with colorful adventure, memorable characters, gentle humor, and positive messages about literacy, empathy, teamwork, imagination, and second chances, The Super Readers and the Forest of Forgotten Words encourages children to see reading as something active, exciting, and powerful.

Young readers are reminded that books can teach us, words can connect us, stories can inspire us, and mistakes can become opportunities to learn and do better.

Perfect for reading together at home, in classrooms, libraries, and literacy programs, this imaginative picture book invites children to join the Super Readers-and discover the hero hiding inside every reader.

Read it. Learn it. Use it well.

The adventure begins with a book.

 - Strongly Recommended: The book combines an accessible adventure, clearly differentiated heroes, strong visual storytelling, and positive literacy and empathy themes without making the educational purpose overpower the story. Its simplicity is appropriate to the intended younger audience and series-launch format. - True Voice Review
