This book was actually a lot more interesting than I thought it was going to be. I figured that because it was old it would probably have outdated information, but it doesn't really seem to be that kind of book. It is more about specific insulating projects that can be done to a house to improve energy efficiency. It covers windows, doors, attics, etc. I found the information about air exchanges and humidity to be especially interesting, and it didn't occur to me that you can "over insulate" a house if you are not careful. I also found the information about the super-heated attic situation to relevant. If the book shows its age in any department it is the section about furnaces, but mostly because furnace efficiency has improved a lot over the years. The stuff about furnace size, though, was right on. Overall, I thought this was a cool book and I found myself flipping through it and trying to understand it all. This is a great book for someone who is looking to save some money on their energy costs, improve an old home, or build a new one.
