Sunset Murder Case

Gorgeous exotic dancer, Kathy O'Connor, is horrified to learn that her father has been murdered by gangsters. When the police turn up no leads, Kathy is determined to expose the killers herself. She gets herself hired as a stripper in the nightclub run by the man who she believes ordered the hit on her dad. Her exotic striptease act packs the club, while the boss begins to put the romantic squeeze on her. As Kathy edges closer to exposing the killer, she is forced to decide how much of herself she is willing to surrender to do so.

Sally Rand's notorious naked fan dance (featured in this film) shocked packed houses at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair and rocketed her to national celebrity. Banned in Boston, the Sunset Murder Case features Reed Hadley as well as poverty row comedy actor Vince Barnett and was directed by Louis Gasnier, notably of Perils of Pauline (1914) and the exploitation classic Reefer Madness (1936).
