After the events in San Juan Sunrise, Jennifer Morse is now a successful author who spends a lot of time away from home on book tours. Consequently, her relationship with her boyfriend, Chris, has hit some bumpy patches.

While visiting her grandparents in Paris, she meets racing driver Jean Luc Bonnet. Though attracted to him, as he is to her, she is not yet ready for another relationship. All her doubts about men and betrayal and her abusive past, which she worked so hard to overcome, are stirred up by Chris's deception and Jean's pursuit.
