A tender, profound story of a pastor who opened himself and his church to a man with cerebral palsy. This description may be from another edition of this product.
My wife passed this book on to me as inspirational reading. Needless to say I was inspired and thoroughly enjoyed Sundays with Scottie by Milton Jones. This book tells the story of Scottie, a member of the author's congregation, through the eyes of his pastor, the author, and Scottie. Severly afflicted with Cerebal Palsy, Scottie, is the person we pity, but usually ignore, walking down the street, in church, or other social circumstances. This book is a good lesson on who and what matters in life. The value of the person, his, your, and my place in the Church. The author does a great job of showing how each one of us, no matter how small or insignificant society judges us to be, is an essential component of what makes up the Christian Church. But more than that it shows how even the most disabled individual can overcome what nature has dealt him or her and reflect Christ and give Him praise. This is a short but not unsignificant read. Highly recommended for those of us who feel, at times, life has dealt us a bad hand. Scottie taught his Church and teaches us that it is attitude and the Gospel message that matters. Buy this book.
