Saving worlds from the apocalypse is a high price to pay, but two have been chosen to do this. Apocalypse Moon, which isn't the most sympathetic of ears, and a boy who knows nothing of himself or where he belongs. While on her own mission, Moon bumps into Sun and finds herself having to help out her nemesis in order to have a chance to escape the Nightmare King's deadly clutches.

Armed with nothing, Shasta continues her own journey with Spenca, a man who travels with her and protects her from the dangers of Game World. She and Spenca hold the key to saving their new world, but only if Shasta can tell the difference between dreams, realities, and nightmares.
