Damien and Amma forever!

I am totally invested in Damien and Amma finally getting together as equals and on the same path, if only all the craziness would leave them alone for a few minutes! It does make for a great story though and I love how this second book opens up more of the world for them. I must admit that I found Xander quite interesting and while he does have some things to work on, it seems like the bad guys are actually nicer than the so called "good guys" like the ones hunting down Amma and Damien or the former betrothed of Amma who is the absolute worst! Yes, it seems like not much progress is made for the original quest, but that is perfectly fine since instead you get the wonderful slow burn romance, interesting characters like vampires, or witches with power in the wild, and sweet moments between Amma and Damien that hint at what may happen in the next book! This is a great and to me, quite cozy comforting to read, despite the dangers after Amma though she can handle herself and when Damien joins in, it is pure chaos! I think this is a wonderful series and I am quite the fan of the new covers to draw in new readers. Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for giving me the chance to read this.
