Summerland comforts parents grieving the loss of a child

The worst experience for any parent is the death of a child. In the story, the Dark Valley is death, and the child must go through this valley to reach "the one who is waiting" and the beautiful summer meadows, "heaven". In life, the long dark valley is grief and we must get through this dark period and choose life. Summerland provides enormous comfort during this journey.
