School is out and summer break is finally here. Twelve-year-old Cece, and her younger sister, Sophie, have another treat in store; they're moving into a new home in a wooded enclave on the outskirts of town. But to their horror the girls discover there was a construction mishap, and the entire neighborhood is without cable, internet, or cell service. It will take three months to fix-the entire summer!Cece and Sophie share in their grief with a neighbor boy named Daniel. Out of sheer boredom the three tromp into the nearby woods where they stumble into a boy named Harry. Harry, a gruff looking boy who is never without a pocket knife or lighter, vows to help the kids fix their problem no matter what it takes. This determination leads the kids to behave as children of a time gone past. They build a tree house, go fishing, learn Morse code, go to a museum, ride bikes, and learn how to build camp fires. These new skills go unheeded until one day when the kids see a man burying something in the woods that looks like a human body. Now they must use every new skill they've learned to unearth the truth and avoid a grisly fate.
