Newly widowed Rebecca reunites with the father who once abandoned her. This was ensured by Grandpa Thomas, who was a World War II veteran himself and understood the complexities of life post-battle. Through their search for Esmé, Rebecca and Victor encounter Doug, another World War II veteran, who reveals secrets from Grandpa Thomas's past that could save The Sutton Book Club and ultimately bring the entire Sutton family back together again for the first time-- if they learn how to forgive.
