In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing poetry. I'm very selective in my preferences; very few poets strike me hard and passionately. This selection of poems touched me; 'twas painfully unfeigned. Only regret is not owning a signed copy. Signed, Horace Petrey

This is one of the few precious books I have come across. The solipsistics are carefully moved to the side, revealing a richer view composed of all things tangible, quite alive.. & productive, in some way. My goodness, people. This precious book of poems hits the spot, quite nourishing for ones who are seeking, and equally consumed by self-actualized souls. Mr. Naiden, I urge you to go national. To the rest of the world, do pass along the discovery of such a treasure. It is an excellent gift. The illustrations are icing on top. Congratulations and thank you for publishing Light, Expression, and Art.

I was thoroughly stimulated last week at a ~Live Reading~ of the author's lines. I suppressed an urge to get up from my seat and hold his hand in some little embrace. I left that night with a silent prayer.I encourage people of the world to take the time to say hello to such people. It is a given what is reaped will surpass the energy in the effort.James Naiden, you appear to very strong in spirit, despite all your pains and vacancies. The feelings evoked from your book are piercingly heartfelt. I wish you the best in this sometimes unjust world.

Truly, there is so much color in James Naiden's little book! Its amazing how intricately well the author's thought threads have woven such a masterpiece of this wondrous tapestry. This fine poet, one may think, has earned his eminence in the Literary World. I suppose years of practice makes for a seasoned writer. If the author possesses traits of patience, I would kindly suggest Mr. Naiden take up teaching; inspiring and giving back to young, eager minds. All in all, Mr. Naiden can be proud of his fine work in "Summer Poems." In fact, one can easily imagine the author having starlit eyes, .. leaving gold-dust in his footprints. Also, nods to Mrs. Viste-Ross for her quite lovely and complementing illustrations. I cannot be more impressed, quite frankly. It is on my third bookshelf, front-facing. Thank you indeed, Mr. Naiden, for sharing your heart to the masses. You are the epitome of progression. Cheers! ::::glasses of diet coke clinking::::
Deftly written stylistic verse

Summer Poems showcases the deftly written stylistic verse of James Naiden, a skilled poet able to evoke a blended mix of emotional responses to his words and their conjured images. Parting At A Train Station: Your face with risen curve,/Fog wisps & lavender mist/Shores up my inconstant nerve.//Your worried voice in early hours,/My faint attempts at good-bye,/Indigo seconds are ours://A hard kiss with grasped touch,/Then your bags moving swiftly/With a porter, hurried much//By the train's hissing breath,/Your stepping up, disappear-/Ing only to refuse death//Or any darkly gray thought/Harbored low within my brain./Only love was what we taught//Ourselves for such times as this:/Your face at the window, your/Wave & smile I cannot miss.//As the train moves away,/The sun strokes its silver frame/Past the nearby inland bay,//Faster beyond distant trees./I remember your blonde face/As if in a Tuscan frieze.
