Summer Nocturne, is a novella about a woman who keeps reinventing herself to stay true to her core values. To challenge her moral compass and courage, she purposefully takes risks in a male-dominated as well as in a highly competitive environment to stay afloat.

The narrator, in contemporary urban India, faces disinheritance and deprivation at the hands of her family and workplace. Her narrative portrays her journey to reconcile her personal and social values amidst internal struggles. The story centers on Ruhi, a woman locked out of her apartment. Losing her tote bag and house keys leaves her stranded all night. Her night involves eating on a stair landing, visiting the police station and a caf , befriending a street cat, meeting a friend, meditating in a tenement garret, watching the midnight sun from the rooftop, and documenting it all on wrapping papers. A surprising turn of events leads to her regaining her home and identity.
