Fantastic for keeping your kids on track over the summer!

We've used these products for DS to bridge between K-1st grade and 1st - 2nd. His curriculum at school is advanced so we use the year ahead and it has been the perfect bridge between grades. He enters the next year a step ahead - fully ready to jump in without needing any reminder lessons. The downside is that our already bright child is a bit bored at the beginning of the year while the teachers are bringing all the other kids up to speed... We'll be using these books every year. They keep our child engaged during the summer, give him some Mommy and me time and it doesn't take much time. He also loves the work/reward aspect of Summer Bridge and looks forward to it! I disagree about the Christian aspect... No, it's not a theology lesson, but there are some different illustrations on the worksheets. There is also a verse daily that you can use with the kids and a vacation Bible school curriculum in the back. That has been the same in both the books we've used (1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd Bridge), but it does provide activities that you can pick and choose. We still haven't done all the activities... We pick and choose... I've looked at a number of similar books, but this one is my favorite. I'd have never found it if DS' Kindergarten teacher hadn't specifically recommended them. These have colorful, fun projects. The "christian" part of it is just a few added or changed things from the original Summer Bridges. Don't expect different worksheets, mostly just different verbage.
