"Summer 1991," is a fictional story based on a journey to East Germany shortly after Reunification. It's a romance set in Brussels, Dresden, Berlin, and Potsdam, interwoven with family events linked to the Cold War, when Germany was divided into two blocs: West Germany (capitalist) and East Germany (communist). Carl's family was separated by the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall, between Belgium, where he lives, and Germany.
