Suicide is a rampant pandemic on Earth that is laying waste to the teen-aged children of our entire species. This pandemic crosses all cultural and economic boundaries and there are few countries left in the world where it's effects are not being felt. It's the fourth leading cause of death for people 15-19 years old, worldwide!!! Am I text yelling!?! You bet I am. This is the most alarming loss of life we're experiencing in our species at this time. What is required is a sea change in the social, psychological and physical environments we're raising our children in. Parenting is the engine for social, psychological and physical evolution in our species. The direct and powerful influence of parenting is the primary mechanism for shifting cultural priorities, re-arranging social frameworks and initiating changes into emerging Human societies. When we examine our current global crisis of child loss due to suicide, we are compelled to ask, Wtf is going on here!?! There are definitive answers to that question. The first being found in the shared priorities we're currently raising our children with. In almost every human culture on Earth, we're raising our children to survive within the narrow framework of restrictive and degrading economic systems. Economic systems, by definition, are supposed to be geared to serve human needs and organize the dispensing and sharing of resources, goods and services. By including means of survival, specifically, homes, food and water, as commodities to be owned, bought and sold in our systems of economy, we've injected a life or death magnitude of pressure on individual humans to either fit into the economic machines of old or perish. The glaring psychological program is, "Work or be homeless, Work or starve,. Work or die." So, of course, wanting our children to survive, we track and gear them towards fitting into the economic model that dominates all cultures, that of shape-shifting homes and food, Human sanctuary and Human physical sustenance, into consumer items, commodities and property. We are actively participating in the current priorities of raising children to fit the system because, we were raised that way. These social pressures are impinging on the health and quality of life for our children. They are woven throughout the schooling systems, political structures and family values of nearly every Human culture. And these "values" are killing us..The mass death, the mass suicide of our youth worldwide is a giant, glaring red flag and too loud of an alarm to simply ignore. In raising our kids to fit their local systems of economy, we've essentially got it backwards. We need to stop, immediately, raising our kids to to try to fit into a barbaric system and instead start raising them with their humanity intact and expanded. By raising kids according to their Humanity rather than some pre-packaged, outmoded, obsolete, death trap system, we equip and empower them to come to new ideas for systems that can serve all Human survival needs as well as psychological needs. The old systems have had millennia to show their fruits and what they've produced over and over is a system that enslaves the many while engorging a tiny minority. It's imbalanced and pathological.More importantly, it's within our reach to raise our children according to their Humanity, to fully equip them for life, and the great journeys they will be navigating in heart, mind and body. This book lays out a road map for doing just that. By examining what it means to be Human and coming into the very powerful and momentous time of pre-adulthood, pre-adepthood, I've designated a set of 7 Cardinal Tasks that must be accomplished by the adolescent Human in order to expand the individual soul, through direct experience, into their Adult phase of life. With the far reaching blessings of Love and Freedom, Godspeed!
