Excellent resource for folktales and Mongolia

If you are in need of a true Mongolian folktale - this is the book for you. In studying a unit about Mongolia (5th grade) I used this with my students to discuss everything from lifestyle, government, traditions, and use of color to communication, social acceptance, and world outlook. The illustrations use traditional Mongolian color palettes, the author spins a tale of happiness and woe, and the folktale sends the messages home. This book (hardcover) comes with a CD that has beautiful music reflective of the instrument in the story, as well as the book-on-CD. The reader's voice is lacking in personality, but the music is exquisite.
