A great synopsis of the Salinger short story

We have missed so much as Salinger has gone to such lengths to keep his early short stories from mass distribution. This is a great, academic presentation of what is lacking in the context of what we (the public) have access to (i.e., Nine Stories, Franny & Zooey, etc). To re-capture Salinger's real gift (the short story) and get some perspective about his contribution to American literature, this is a wonderful volume!
