This book is a great resource for any school that is starting an advisor-advisee program or has been unsuccessful in getting an advisement program to run smoothly. The author gives many strategies for getting the group of students to "gel" as a group and to feel comfortable in sharing with their peers. She has practical suggestions for organizing an advisement program and includes a discussion on the adult roles in advisement. The focus of the book is on strategies for interaction rather than on specific lesson content for an advisement program. However, many of the strategies she discusses could certainly be included in one or multiple advisement sessions.
