A connection between faith and political involvement

A brilliantly researched and written chronicle of the struggles of the oppressed poor of Central America.Berryman has adroitly chronicled, over the past three decades, the struggles of the marginal, ethnic poor of Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua against their tyrannical oppressive political systems. Extremely insightful is the analysis he provides of the doctrine of "Liberation Theology" and "Proclamation Only Theology". "The concern of this book," says Berryman, "is the role of churches and church people in the midst of revolution.... thus the focus of those who see a connection between their faith and some form of political involvement."Highly recommended for all who are interested in or traveling to Central America
