The purpose of this research is to know how family functioning and school performance are related. A sample of 32 students from the sixth grade of primary education of the educational unit "Escuela Estado Lara" of the Libertador municipality of the State of Merida, whose ages fluctuate between 10 and 12 years old, was taken for the study. The research is descriptive, with a correlational design. The instrument used is the Faces III questionnaire by Olson (1985) and adapted to our reality for the purposes of the research. The main results show that there is a relationship between family functioning and school performance, as well as with the family cohesion dimension and the adaptability dimension.
