Book Overview

Our Mother Earth was brought to the edge of destruction 12,000 solar rotations of Mother Earth around Father Sun ago. A volcano on the edge of the Great Western Mountains exploded, sending Mother Earth into the dark of night for hundreds of solar rotations. Man also contributed to the disaster by unleashing nuclear pollution over the entire Mother Earth. Irradiated volcanic ash destroyed the surface of our beautiful Mother Earth. Man was punished by Mother Earth for this sacrilege with ice. The ice did not stop falling and building for over 11,000 solar rotations.
Mother Earth relented 2,000 solar rotations ago to allow man a reprieve in his punishment. However, man did not beg forgiveness from our Mother Earth. Mother Earth will allow the punishment to begin again, ice is returning.
The vast underground civilization that is Hansa has scientists that have told us, the People, that we have little time to prepare to live alone on the surface of our sacred land. Our Shamans have met in Council and agree. The People need a leader with clear time-sight to survive the renewal of ice. The People have foolishly forgotten the old ways of living under the ice. Our Shamans have sent out scouts for 200 solar rotations to find a surface nation that remembers the old ways. The scouts have all returned with the same news; everyone else has forgotten, too.
Millions of Hansa will close their steel doors to lock themselves deep underground inside their 21 great cities when the ice returns. Hansa live like moles and will survive the ice. Men on the surface of Mother Earth will freeze and die. Men that live as true humans will disappear completely from the surface because of our hubris. The People will continue to search for a way to survive the ice until we can no longer move. The authors of this chronicle hope that at least our story will survive us, The Tsitsistas, The People.
