Maisie in the sunshine Most rescued dogs have some trauma in their background, mostly inflicted by humans, and life with a rescued street dog has its challenges, but it also has its joys. Like humans with PTSD, they need time, love and patience. Maisie was assessed as being around three years old when we adopted her, after being in the rescue centre for several months. What she saw and endured on the streets was never going to be forgotten entirely. But she survived it all, and is a sweet, loving dog who is just glad to have a home. Trust is the key.
