Asco Weequasin Hello
This book was a gift created by Paulla Dove Jennings, Niantic-Narragansett author; and Ramona Peters, Mashpee Wampanoag illustrator. Together they embodied a local traditional story that teaches lessons, shares cultural knowledge, and depicts ancestral and contemporary Indigenous communities through storytelling narrative and vivid imagery. This work shares the gift of the Strawberry and the importance of gratitude. However, it is one of very few children's books written by a Narragansett author which is why we felt it important to republish this book.
It also shows the continuation of the tradition of Thirteen Thanksgivings and the relationship with the moon cycle. Join our circle at Tomaquag Museum and experience Strawberry Thanksgiving with your friends, old and new.
Kutaputush, Aquen kah Noonantam,
Thanks, Peace & Blessings,
