I know that this is considered a novel for young adults, and I am anything but a YA, however, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It kept me reading! Actually, I was totally involved in the story. Four teens go on a wilderness hike when a freak windstorm kills the group's guide and two of the other teens. So they are stranded more or less without supplies and with only basic knowledge of how to survive, plus, they will need to try to find their way out of this forest. Having spent many hours in wilderness settings in my youth, my Dad taught me a love and respect for the forests and nature, but he also taught me how quickly and easy it was to become lost and stranded. A lot of readers said there wasn't proper character development, but I felt as if I knew them all. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this read and look forward to possibly reading another by this author.
